These past two weeks have been a whirlwind! Ari Kohn and I, 2/3 of #BrassLightning, flew out to meet the Allen Stone crew in Washington State. From there we weathered the winds of Sasquatch Music Festival at the beautiful Gorge. Then we met up with a band I toured alongside back in 2011, SOJA! We rocked three shows with them in NC and Virginia (with some interesting bus incidents, but everyone is ok!!) then flew to Houston to make it stanky for the Houston Free Press Summer Fest!
Did a few shows in the South with support from new friends, The Sheepdogs, and glad to hear some trombone in the mix :)
Then it was on to hot and sweaty Bonnaroo, where Ari and I jammed with old friends from Asheville via Columbus, Jahman Brahman, at their self constructed side stage into the wee hours of the morning.
Next Allen Stone & Co. opened up Main Stage on Friday to a beautiful and inviting crowd. Checked out Vulfpeck's crushing set and got to see Chris Stapleton, Misterwives, LCD Soundsystem & Tame Impala, among others. Everyone did it up in the best way. Finally after 3 hot and sweaty days we capped it off with SuperJam with Kamasi Washington and his beautiful band. My man Ryan Porter on the bone was an inspiration to hear. Can't wait to do more on that front. The whole jam was stacked with amazing people and artists. Shout out to all y'all! Here's some pics!
